Speech Developmvntal Factors in Day Care Nursery Children

Abstract
This investigation is concerned with the speech developmental factors in four-years-old children. The subjects were randomly selected from 90 children enrolled in four days care nursery schools in Daegu. An articulation evaluation for 19 Korean consonants at 54 positions and KSWC-NSST were administered to 90 children (47 boys, 43 girls).
The results were as follows.
1. There was no significant difference in consonant errors betwesn ratings by 9 nursery school teachers and the authers.
2. There was no significant difference for the level of cultural faculties.
3. There was significant difference with intellegence. We reported it was the positive factor in speech development.
4. In the sucking periods, we are not shown the significant difference..
5. The speech developments were shown that children grown by mother¢¥s milk were similar to mixed milks, but those by only milk were more retarded than mother¢¥s and mixed milks.
